Scenic rewards come early on the trail to Old Fort Point as it rises
across the Athabasca River from Jasper townsite. While Old Fort Point
is just a hill, its position in the middle of the Athabasca Valley provides
a 360-degree panorama with Jasper Park Lodge to the north and Mount Edith
Cavell to the south.
The trail climbs steeply up open slopes until the summit ridge and reaches
the top in only 0.8 kilometers.
