The trail to the waterfalls of Johnston Canyon is probably the most busiest in the Canadian Rockies. Nearly everyday in the summer, hundreds of hikers follow its canyon-clinging catwalks and cliff-mounting staircases along the Johnston Creek to the Lower and Upper Falls.

Along the way, there are many viewpoint overlookings the canyon. In some places, the canyon walls are more than 30 meters high. The Lower Falls is reached in 1.1 kilometers. Continue to the Upper Falls, which is reached in 2.7 kilometers. In winter, the canyon becomes a world of frozen waterfalls and pillars of blue ice, which draws hordes of adventurous ice climbers to the area.
